Parcel packaging
Proper packaging of the shipment is key to its safe and successful transportation. Below are some important points to consider when packing your shipment:
PARCELS (BOXES)
Use appropriate high-quality material
- Ensure that the box matches the contents of the shipment.
- It must be sufficiently strong and sturdy to provide support to the transported contents.
Choose the right size of the box
- The box should not be too small to avoid overcrowding of the contents.
- The box should not be too large to prevent excessive empty space around the transported item.
Fill the empty space inside
- The contents being transported must be secured within the box using protective material.
- Prevent items from moving within the box, especially during longer shipments.
Secure fragile items
- Fragile items should be individually wrapped and surrounded by protective layers.
Close the box properly
- Seal the vulnerable areas of the box, ideally in the shape of an "H".
- Use strong and high-quality adhesive tape.
Reinforce heavier boxes with straps
- If you have heavier boxes, secure them with straps.
- Ensure that the box and its contents form a strong and stable unit.
Clearly label each box
- Place the shipping label on the top side of the box.
- Remove previous labels and information about previous deliveries.
PALLETS
Use quality and undamaged pallets
- The pallet must be strong, high-quality, and provide support to the transported cargo.
Arrange the cargo on the pallet in a stable and symmetrical manner
- Distribute the boxes evenly across the entire surface of the pallet.
Secure the cargo and the pallet
- Fasten the cargo with straps.
- Wrap the pallet with stretch film to prevent movement or collapse of the goods.
Ensure stackability
- Strive to make the pallets stackable.
Properly label the pallets
- Place the transport label on the side of the pallet.
- Handwrite the recipient's address on the pallet.
By following these guidelines, you will ensure proper packaging and labeling of the shipment for its safe and successful transportation.
